At Elwell Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Elwell always puts our patients and their needs first. Whether you need routine care or something more involved, he’ll make sure whatever you receive is 100% designed just for you. Growing up in an Air Force family, Dr. Elwell experienced several areas of the country including Massachusetts, South Dakota, Virginia and several locations in Florida. He has found his home in Sarasota, where he opened his private practice, and he is dedicated to serving and enriching the lives of his patients.
Starting out at the University of Washington in Seattle, he balanced his studies with rowing on the Varsity crew team. Then, he followed his passion for smiles to LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, Florida, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2017. Following graduation from dental school he went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency with NYU Langone Hospitals in 2018.
When he's not busy brightening smiles, you can find him out and about with his family and friends. An avid backpacker, Dr. Elwell completed a “thru-hike” of the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in 2002. On weekends, he enjoys exploring local parks, hiking and enjoying Florida’s beautiful beaches with his family.

He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and West Coast District Dental Association. He's focused on dental advancements and techniques to provide the most effective and comfortable dental experience for his patients.
