I can't say enough good things about this dental office! Bringing my son, who has ASD, to the dentist has always been a challenge, but the staff here are absolutely amazing. Especially Dianne she was so patient and gentle with him, taking the time to explain everything in a way he could understand. It was clear she genuinely cared about making him feel comfortable and safe. The level of understanding and compassion she showed us was truly exceptional. I highly recommend this office to any parent looking for a dentist who is skilled and also incredibly kind and understanding, especially for children with special needs.

Why You Shouldn’t Wait to Schedule an Emergency Dentist Visit

Delaying dental care can turn a small issue into a serious one. Pain is your body’s way of signaling that something is wrong, and ignoring it often leads to bigger problems, such as infection or tooth loss. Promptly treating an emergency not only protects your health but also helps you avoid more complex and costly procedures in the future.

How Dental Emergencies Happen in Wilmington

Life in Wilmington is deeply connected to the waterfront and its rich history. Whether you are enjoying a relaxing afternoon at the beautiful Wilmington Waterfront Park, taking a historical tour of the magnificent Banning House, or spending time outdoors at Drum Barracks, the daily pace in the Harbor Area is active. But a busy day can quickly turn into a dental crisis. A sudden accident during recreation, or even an unexpected chip while enjoying a meal, can result in a painful broken tooth or severe tooth pain. When you are facing an emergency like this, the last thing you need is the stress of traveling out of the city. You need immediate, reliable care right here in Wilmington.

How We Can Help Wilmington Residents Find Emergency Dental Care

As part of the Harbor Area, Wilmington residents are used to a strong community feel, enjoying local spots like the Wilmington Community Garden and easy access to shopping hubs throughout the region. Yet, when a dental emergency strikes, the journey for urgent care can feel overwhelming, especially if you live near our neighbors in Carson, Long Beach, or San Pedro. Our service is intentionally local, designed to provide fast, empathetic relief so you do not have to travel far. We are ready to help you quickly resolve your urgent dental needs and get back to enjoying life in Wilmington.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is considered a dental emergency?

Severe toothaches, knocked-out teeth, broken or chipped teeth, lost crowns or fillings, abscesses, or swelling that affects your ability to eat, speak, or breathe.

What should I do if my tooth is knocked out?

Handle it by the crown (not the root), gently rinse it, and keep it moist in milk or saliva. Bring it to your appointment immediately.

How can I relieve a severe toothache until my appointment?

Take an over-the-counter pain reliever and apply a cold compress. Avoid placing aspirin directly on your gums.

Do you accept my dental insurance plan?

Most insurance plans are accepted. Call ahead to confirm coverage and benefits.

What are your hours for emergency appointments?

We offer same-day and extended hours for urgent needs. Contact us to be connected to the right dentist, then contact their office to check availability.

What if my dental emergency happens after hours?

Many emergency dentists offer 24/7 availability or extended hours. If your emergency occurs late at night, check whether an emergency dentist is open nearby, or go to the ER if you have severe pain, swelling, or trauma.

Can you treat a cracked or chipped tooth?

Yes, our dentists can restore or repair damaged teeth to prevent further complications.

Will I need a follow-up appointment?

Some emergencies require additional visits for permanent treatment, such as crowns or root canals.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

Yes, our dentists prioritize same-day scheduling whenever possible.

How do I get the fastest care?

For the fastest care, call us first, and we’ll connect you with the right dentist in Wilmington.

What happens if I lose a crown or filling?

Bring the crown or filling with you if possible. We’ll repair or replace it to restore your bite and comfort.
